In a world first, Channel Nine and WIN Television have joined forces with Variety WA to announce a groundbreaking partnership between its’ charitable arm – Appealathon – and Variety WA.
The alliance between these two powerful brands is not only a demonstration of Channel Nine and WIN Television’s commitment to the ongoing support of charitable fundraising, but will also provide Variety WA with a position of strength in the market - by way of access to television airtime to drive and promote fund-raising initiatives.
Channel Nine and WIN Television will provide airtime, commercial production support (through its local production unit) and locally produced News programs – Nine News, WIN News and A Current Affair will also throw in their support. Station personalities, Dixie Marshall, Greg Pearce, Michael Thomson, Angela Tsun, Louise Momber and Matt Tinney will also continue to make major contributions.
In making the announcement, General Manager of Channel Nine and WIN Television WA, Ian McRae said, “I am excited to be strengthening our ties with Variety and I believe that the ‘can do’ spirit which exists in WA will ensure that we can take charitable fundraising activities to a new level. Variety International President, Grahame Mapp, joined guests in Perth to officially launch the world first partnership with an exclusive morning tea at Channel Nine studios.
“This partnership has set a new benchmark for Variety worldwide, providing an innovative fundraising platform to reach the community 12 months a year. On behalf of Variety International, I commend Channel Nine, WIN Television and Variety WA for their vision in bringing two of Western Australia’s most loved and respected charities together to make double the difference to WA kids in need,” Grahame said.
Since 1975, Appealathon has raised over $60m for it’s beneficiaries.
