13 year old Naomi received an assistive technology package.
Living with the effects of brain damage, including delayed speech and reduced IQ, Naomi was presented with a specialist keyboard and range of assistive software to maximise her learning both at home and school. The ‘BigKeys’ oversize keyboard will allow Naomi to operate a computer with greater ease, working in conjunction with the software package to improve her recognition of numbers and letters and develop hand / eye coordination. |

12 year old Peiter received a lap top computer grant. Peiter experiences Dyslexia causing significant difficulties reading and writing. The grant will enable Peiter to overcome these obstacles to produce a higher quality of work and participate more fully in mainstream curriculum. |

11 year old Travis received a lap top and specialist software package to help maximise his learning. Living with Autism, Travis is often non-verbal and requires visual prompts to assist in understanding and enhancing his communication. A student at Manjimup Education Support Centre, Travis is not able to produce legible handwriting and used to rely on a scribe to write for him before receiving his grant. |

15 year old Brittany received a special lap top and assistive software package. Living with Congenital Myotonic Dystrophy, a progressive condition causing muscle wasting and learning difficulties, Brittany finds it extremely difficult and painful to grip her pen when handwriting. As a result, Brittney’s writing speed is decreased and she often falls behind in class. To help reduce the burden of handwriting and make life a little easier, Retravision and Variety were delighted to present the lap top and software package to Brittany.
